OVERLAND PARK, KS – Junior Caitlyn Kakavas (Bayside, NY/St. Agnes) concluded her season by being named the Association of Division Three Independents (AD3I) Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of April. The Association made the announcement yesterday, giving Kakavas her first Student-Athlete of the Month award in her career. Kakavas was named the Association's Player of the Week for April 4th as the Lady Bears went 16-4 in April. She batted .558 in the month and also had an .814 slugging percentage and .618 on-base percentage. Kakavas picked up 26 RBI and scored 20 runs on 24 hits. Nine of her 24 hits went for extra bases as she collected eight doubles and one home run. She was also a perfect 7-for-7 on steal attempts and added ten walks. Kakavas helped her team defensively as well, by not committing a single error in 105 chances at third base and catcher and throwing out 5-of-9 would be base-stealers.
