Chiaramonte Collects AD3I and USCAA Player of the Week Honors

BROOKLYN, NY – Senior pitcher/outfielder Alyson Chiaramonte (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Player of the Week, recognizing her outstanding performance last week leading the Lady Bears to a 4-0 record where she achieved several career milestones in the process.

In the circle, she went 3-0 including her school-record 50th career victory, which came via an extra-inning, relief appearance against Purchase. She compiled a 0.84 ERA in 16.2 innings of work, striking out 28 batters. She eclipsed the 500-career strikeout mark, bettering her school record, and surrendered just six hits, one walk and two runs.

At the plate, Chiaramonte went 9-for-14 (.643) and drove in eight runs, becoming just the fifth Lady Bear to reach the 100-career RBI mark. She also had a 1.000 slugging percentage and accumulated two runs, a home run, triple and stolen base.

Chiaramonte follows teammate Lisa Scheer who earned AD3I Player of the Week honors last week.  Chiaramonte receives the AD3I accolade for the seventh time in her career and the USCAA honor for the first time ever, but has collected Pitcher of the Week honors six times in her first three seasons.
