Series History

Series is tied 4-4; Both squads have split the last two doubleheaders meetings.

Last Meeting

Brooklyn captured a 2-0 victory in last year's opener at Padavan-Preller Field on Senior Night.  Alyson Chiaramonte tossed a two-hitter en route to her fifth shutout of the season. Caitlyn Kakavas delivered the go-ahead run with a one-out single in the sixth.

In the finale, the Lady Bears took a 1-0 lead in the first before the Golden Eagles scored three runs in the next half inning to take a 3-1 lead.  Brooklyn closed the gap with solo runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but Julia De Carmine delivered for Long Island with a one-out RBI double in their final at bat for the 4-3 victory.

The Lady Bear Facts

After rolling off a 15-game winning streak, matching a school record, Brooklyn has gone 1-3 over their last four games with all three losses decided by two runs or less.  The Lady Bears face their third straight opponent from the Skyline Conference and continue a stretch of five straight scheduled road twinbills.

Alyson Chiaramonte leads the Lady Bears in the circle and at the plate and is ranked among Division III leaders in shutouts (tied for 3rd), hits allowed per seven innings (5th), walks allowed per seven innings (6th), strikeouts per seven innings (14th), ERA (19th).  Chiaramonte just collected her second straight AD3I  and HVWAC Player of the Week.

After leading the Lady Bears in hitting last week, freshman Jackie Perillo earned HVWAC Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in her career.

Inside the Eagles' Nest

The Golden Eagles celebrate Senior Day and look to snap a four-game skid.  In their last outing, Long Island was swept by Skyline regular-season champions, NYU-Poly, finishing a .500 record and a sixth place finish in conference play.

Julieanne Tierney leads the team in hitting (.371) with 13 extra base hits and Julia De Carmine is the leading run producer with 23 RBI and three home runs.  De Carmine shares duties in the circle with Cassie Martinez, both with eight wins apiece.
