Lady Bears, Chiaramonte Ranked Among DIII Softball Leaders

BROOKLYN, NY – After a 5-1 mark last week, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) softball team is ranked nationally on the first page of four NCAA Division III statistical categories and Alyson Chiaramonte (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) ranks in the top 21 in six categories.

The Lady Bears outscored the opposition 43-13 over a six-game stretch last week and jumped up to 25th in the nation in scoring.  St. Joseph's also ranks in the top 50 (out of 402 ranked teams) in the nation in ERA, triples per game, and fielding percentage.

Chiaramonte continues to climb the strikeout leaderboard, fanning 35 batters last week to move up 12 places to 21st. Chiaramonte went 3-1 last week and jumped up 42 spots to 70th place in victories.
