Lady Bears Climb DIII Statistical Leaderboard

BROOKLYN, NY – After a 4-0 mark last week with four shutouts, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) softball team has jumped up into the top 25 among the Division III statistical leaders in four categories and Alyson Chiaramonte (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) ranks in the top 10 in three categories.

The Lady Bears averaged over 10 runs a game last week and moved up to 12th in the nation in scoring currently averaging 7.26 runs a game. The Lady Bears made the biggest movement in batting average, jumping over 30 places to 25th, now hitting .342 as a team. St. Joseph's also ranks in the top 50 (out of 402 ranked teams) in eight categories after only four last week.

After a pair of shutout victories, Chiaramonte cracked the top 10 with her 1.04 ERA and still remains in 4th with 11 shutouts and trails the leader by three.

Lisa Scheer (Bayside, NY/Mary Louis) also cracks the top 100 in doubles per game and shutouts, after tossing a pair of shutouts last week.
