NEW YORK — Leading the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) softball team to a 4-0 mark this week, Ashleigh Hartwig (Santee, Calif./West Hills) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week, Autumn Poppett (San Diego, Calif./Mission Hills) was named Pitcher of the Week, and Bella Hurtado (San Diego, Calif./Olympian) was tabbed Rookie of the Week, as the conference office announced their weekly accolades this afternoon for games played March 14-20.

Hartwig compiled a team-high .692 average (9-for-13) and slugged .846 to go along with eight RBI on the week to receive her fourth Player of the Week honor of her career. The reigning two-time Skyline Player of the Year recorded multi-hit efforts in all four games as she extended her hit streak to seven games. In a 6-1 victory over Lycoming on Monday in Myrtle Beach, Hartwig went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs. In Sunday's game two triumph over Baruch, she finished 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Poppett improved to 3-0 on the season in the circle with two complete-game victories over Franciscan and Baruch to collect her second-straight Pitcher of the Week nod. The rookie sophomore struck out three and allowed one earned run in a 6-1 win over Barons on Monday. She capped off the week fanning a career-high nine, walking none, with two earned runs in yesterday's 4-2 game one victory over Baruch.

Hurtado continued a hot start to her rookie campaign finishing second on the squad last week with a .667 average (8-for-13), collecting five RBI, three runs, two doubles, three stolen bases and two walks. The freshman recorded three multi-hit games, highlighted by a 3-for-4 effort with two stolen bases against Lycoming. Batted 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double against Franciscan. Hurtado currently has a six-game hitting streak.

The sweep of the weekly honors is the first in program history since the Bears joined the Skyline in the 2015-16 season.

Currently 6-1 overall and on a five-game winning streak, the Bears face borough rivals Brooklyn College tonight in a road doubleheader before traveling to Drew University on Thursday.
