McQuillan Named HVWAC Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, NY – St. Joseph's junior guard Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) has been named the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Player of the Week. This is the first time McQuillan has been named Player of the Week this season, while receiving the honor three times during her sophomore campaign.

McQuillan helped lead the Lady Bears to a pair of wins on the week. In a win over Eastern Nazarene, McQuillan scored 18 points in 22 minutes and connected on all four of her free throw attempts in the final 20 seconds to seal the victory. She shot 53.8% from the floor over the two games and also pulled down four rebounds and handed out three assists.

McQuillan and the Lady Bears look to extend their winning streak on Thursday, December 8th in their first HVWAC battle at Yeshiva. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm.
