Women's Basketball to Participate in Play4Kay National Free Throw Challenge; Will Host Play4Kay Game on February 15

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's basketball team will join hundreds of players, coaches, and fans across the country uniting in an effort to extend and improve the lives of all women battling cancer by raising money for research and assisting the underserved by participating in the Play4Kay National Free Throw Challenge.

The team is securing pledges for every free throw made during games played in February or flat donations through the end of the month. St. Joseph's is currently the top free throw shooting team in the Skyline Conference connecting on 73 percent of their attempts and averaging 11.5 made free throws a game. With one game already played, the team is scheduled to play six more regular season games in February, plus the playoffs.

In addition, the Bears will host their annual Play4Kay game and wear their pink jerseys on Saturday, February 15 at 1 p.m. hosting SJC Long Island. The team will also wear pink on Tuesday, February 18 for their road game at Mount Saint Vincent.

Fans can make their pledges and donations at http://SJCBears.com/Play4Kay. All proceeds will benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
