BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Kelly O'Donnell (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep), Emma Kiley (Whitestone, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy), Jamie Provino (Harrison, N.Y./Harrison), and Lauren Quesada (Westbury, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) — all reached double-digit scoring to guide the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's basketball team to an 82-66 victory against sibling school St. Joseph's College (Long Island) from The Hill Center on Saturday.

O'Donnell, Kiley, and Deserae Sequeira (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) all recorded double-doubles in the Bears' third consecutive victory.

How it Happened

The Bears (14-9, 12-6 Skyline) began the game on an 11-2 run that was kickstarted by a Provino three-pointer. The Golden Eagles (8-15, 6-12 Skyline) used the next three minutes to come within four points, 14-10. Another trey by Provino and six points by Kiley propelled the Bears to an 18-13 lead going into the second quarter.

The second period began with the Bears' lead increasing to nine on a corner three by Samantha Wilber (Island Heights, N.J./Central Regional) and a Sequeira free throw. The advantage grew to 11 on Provino's third three-pointer of the game. SJC Brooklyn went into the half up 32-20 as the visitors used a 13-4 run in the final 5:37 of the quarter to cut their deficit to just two, the closest they'd get to the Bears all afternoon.

Quesada and O'Donnell netted the opening six points of the third frame. Following a Julianna Knice three to bring SJC-LI to within nine, the Bears began to distance themselves from the Golden Eagles. O'Donnell, who only scored six points in the opening 20 minutes, capped off the period with 14 points; leading the Bears to a 60-46 lead entering the fourth.

The aforementioned quartet of Quesada, Kiley, O'Donnell, and Provino continued providing points for the Bears in the fourth quarter; eventually seeing their lead grow to their largest of the game at 22, 78-56, with 4:16 remaining in regulation. The game ultimately ended with the 82-66 result going to the Bears; sweeping season series from the Golden Eagles for the sixth consecutive season.
