BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) women's basketball team narrowly fell to Farmingdale State College, 76-70, on Thursday evening from The Hill Center.

How it Happened

The Rams held the advantage for much of the first quarter; leading by as many as nine, 14-5. The Bears erased a 20-13 deficit with a seven-point stretch to end the period tied at 20.

The leading swung in the navy and gray's favor at the start of the second stanza as it ultimately grew to 32-24 with four minutes remaining in the half. However, Farmingdale State closed the period with a 44-34 halftime result thanks to a commanding 20-2 run.

The Rams' advantage grew to a game-leading 14 in the third, 54-40, but the Bears refused to give in as a string of three-pointers from Kristen Donovan (Maspeth, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) fueled a 13-point swing and a one-point deficit, 54-53.
