Brittany McDonough joins Joe Giacchi's coaching staff ahead of the 2023-24 season at St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn). She recently served as the head coach of the women's basketball program at Fontbonne Hall Academy, where she was named 2022-23 Coach of the Year in her first season. She began her coaching career at her alma mater, Chestnut Hill College, joining the coaching staff following her playing career in July 2017.

 

A two-time team captain at Chestnut Hill, the guard averaged 10.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while recording 31 steals, good for second on the team, en route to earning the team's Most Valuable Player award as a junior in the 2015-16 campaign. McDonough was also a two-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll recipient and was also named to the Chestnut Hill College Academic Honor Roll in Spring 2016 and Fall 2016. The guard totaled 597 (6.4 points/game) points, 298 rebounds (3.2 rebounds/game), and 250 assists (2.7 assists/game) in over 93 games played for the Griffins, finishing among the program’s top-20 all-time in each category.

 

McDonough obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Chestnut Hill in 2017, minoring in human services. She currently resides in Rockaway Park, N.Y.
