Molic Claims Skyline Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week Honors

NEW YORK — After a record-setting effort in the victory over Yeshiva University last week, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) freshman Anisah Molic (Staten Island, N.Y./Susan Wagner) was named the Skyline Conference women's soccer Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

The forward erupted for seven goals and assisted on two others in the Bears' 12-0 triumph over the Maccabees last Tuesday. Her seven goals and 16 points matched the 2017 Division III single-game highs and set new Bears single-game records.

It was the third hat-trick of her collegiate career and her second game-winning goal of the season. She first earned Rookie of the Week honors three weeks ago after scoring the lone goal in the Bears conference win over SUNY Maritime College.

Molic currently ranks fourth in the Skyline in goals scored (18), assists (7), and points (41) behind fellow rookie teammate Deserae Sequeira (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) who leads all three categories.

The Bears (7-7, 3-5) will wrap up their season with a conference showdown against Sarah Lawrence College (5-8-1, 3-5) on Wednesday night at Aviator Field with both teams vying to extend their season and seize the final playoff spot. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. with live stats and video on SJCBears.com.
