Roncoli, LoSchiavo Join Women’s Soccer Coaching Staff

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Head Women's Soccer Coach Kelly Raddar has announced the addition of Joao Paulo "JP" Roncoli and Lisa LoSchiavo as assistant coaches. Roncoli brings 23 years of coaching experience to Clinton Hill while alumna LoSchiavo returns to the sidelines after completing her career with the Bears this past year.

Roncoli joins Raddar's staff after serving as the head varsity soccer and futsal coach at the Notre Dame School of Manhattan since 2017, helping them to the Green & White Cup Championship in 2019.

Roncoli began coaching following a playing career in futsal and semi-professional soccer in his native homeland of Brazil. He coached the academies and youth soccer programs of some of the most prestigious Brazilian clubs such as Palmeiras, Corinthians, and Grêmio. Roncoli came to the US in 2010 where he began coaching several travel and premier youth soccer clubs across the country.

He holds a bachelor's in physical education from the University of Guarulhos in São Paulo and possesses USSF C, D, E, and F coaching licenses and NSCAA Goalkeeping Level 1 and Level 2 licenses.

A Malverne, N.Y. native, LoSchiavo came to Clinton Hill as a freshman in 2017 and was later named a tri-captain as a sophomore. Starting in all 43 games of her collegiate career, she was part of a class that helped lay the foundation for the Bears women's soccer program leading the team to their first two Skyline playoff appearances after just one win in each of the two seasons prior.

LoSchiavo sits in the top 10 in the Bears record book in games started, games played, and assists — totaling three goals, nine assists, and 15 points over her three seasons.

In addition to her achievements on the pitch and on the court as a member of the women's basketball team, LoSchiavo excelled in the classroom and was named to the Skyline Conference Academic Honor Roll all three seasons, and was a two-time member of the Bears' Scholar-Athlete Team. She graduated from St. Joseph's this past May with a bachelor's in marketing with a business administration minor and sports management concentration. She is pursuing a master's in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University and works in the community relations team with the New York Islanders.

With the season opener originally scheduled for tonight postponed, the Bears will open their 2021 campaign and the Coach Raddar era on Friday, September 3 with a road test against Clinton Hill rivals Pratt Institute. Kickoff from Randalls Island Field 74 is scheduled for 7 p.m. with live stats available on SJCBears.com.
