Castaneda Named Skyline Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
NEW YORK -- Following a five-goal effort in a win over the University of Valley Forge, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) freshman Mia Castaneda (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) was selected as the Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.
During a 14-0 road victory last Wednesday, Castaneda found the back of the net five times, including four first-half goals.
Scoring the lone goal in the Bears' season-opening draw, Castaneda currently leads the conference with six goals and 12 points.
Undefeated at 1-0-1, the Bears will return to the pitch on Thursday, September 16 to host Cairn University at Aviator Field starting at 7:30 p.m.
