Women’s Soccer Holds Senior Day Against Sarah Lawrence

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) women's soccer team was defeated by Sarah Lawrence College, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon from Aviator Field.

Prior to the match, Lauren Lynch (Broad Channel, N.Y./MonsignorMcClancy) and Sabrina Amadio (Douglaston, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) weren't honored as part of Senior Day ceremonies.

How it Happened

Sarah Lawrence's Hailee Duckrey took advantage of a poor clearance to score the game's first goal in the seventh minute before assisting their second goal 22 seconds later. The Bears held the visitors to their two-goal advantage for the rest of the half.

An unfortunate own goal in the 70th minute gave the Gryphons their third goal, adding a fourth within the next minute. They confirmed the 5-0 scoreline in the 76th minute.

  • Of the Bears' five shots, Katherine Barrios (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck), Ashley Chimborazo (Elmhurst, N.Y./Maspeth), and Mary Hall (Rochester, N.Y./West Irondequoit) all had shots on target.

  • Julia Marin (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) made six saves, crossing the 100-save threshold for the season.
