Doherty Lowers Two Records As Women’s Swimming Wraps Up Season With Sixth-Place Finish at Skyline Championships
PURCHASE, N.Y. — In her final collegiate meet, senior Shannon Doherty (Brooklyn, N.Y./Churchill) lowered two of her own program records and was the top point collector for the Bears leading the team to sixth-place honors at the two-day Skyline Conference Championships held at Purchase College on Friday and Saturday.
SJC Highlights
- Shannon Doherty bettered her records in the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.38) and 50-yard freestyle (26.36), finishing in fourth and fifth place, respectively. She scored in all four of her individual events also competing in the 200-yard freestyle (2:16.71) and 100-yard freestyle (59.53) and helping both relay squads. She ends her career with her name etched on eight program records—four individual, four relay—the most of any Bears swimmer.
- Jessica Gnad (Brooklyn, N.Y./Leon M. Goldstein) scored points with 11th-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (1:13.95) and 200-yard individual medley (2:49.31)
- Rebecca Bollman contributed a point to the team total with a 12-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (3:07.00) and also was a member of both scoring relay squads.
