Nealon Selected HVWAC Tennis Co-Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, NY - Sophomore Patricia Nealon (Maspeth, NY/St. Francis Prep) was selected HVWAC Tennis Co-Player of the Week for the week ending October 24, in an announcement released by the conference earlier today. This is the first time Nealon has received Player of the Week honors. 

Nealon helped lead St. Joseph's to back to back victories against City Tech and Medgar Evers. The sophomore defeated City Tech's Michelle Mesa 10-1 in the #5 singles match and teamed up with Cassandra Rivera to defeat Michelle Mesa and Stephanie Arbelaez 8-1 in their #3 doubles match. Against Medgar Evers, Nealon won her #3 singles match 10-4 against Shade Swaby and #2 doubles with partner Cassandra Rivera, defeating Shade Swaby and Giselle Strachen 8-3.
St. Joseph's, currently in third place in the HVWAC, takes on Vaughn College tonight at 7 p.m. in their regular season finale. The Lady Bears conclude their season at the 2010 HVWAC Championships on Saturday, October 30 at the National Tennis Center.
