Lady Bears Downed by Sarah Lawrence

BRONXVILLE, NY - The St. Joseph's College women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 on Sunday by the Sarah Lawrence Gryphons.  The Lady Bears fall to 0-4 and 0-2 in the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) with the loss while the Gryphons improve to 6-0 and 3-0 in conference.

Junior Darcy Crimi (Glendale, NY/Christ the King) and sophomore Elizabeth Stein (Forest Hills, NY/St. Francis Prep) gave the strongest showing, each falling 10-2 in 5th and 6th singles.  Crimi also paired with sophomore Kristen Bauman (Crystal Lake, IL/Prairie Ridge) in an 8-1 loss in 1st doubles.

The Lady Bears look for their first win of the season in a home match against Vaughn College on Tuesday at the National Tennis Center.  First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
