Women’s Tennis Drops Season Opener

BROOKLYN, NY – The Lady Bears' women's tennis team opened up their season Tuesday afternoon with an 8-1 road loss to York. Kristen Bauman and Darcy Crimi scored the only win for St. Joseph's, an 8-6 victory at first doubles.

Bauman also competed in first singles, but dropped her match to Valerie Roland 6-0, 6-4. Playing at second singles, freshman Aleena DeJesus fell short 6-1, 6-4 against Nicole Jones in her first collegiate match.

The Lady Bears are back on the court on Thursday, September 29th when they head to the National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY for a road match against Cooper Union. They'll play under the lights as first serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
