Brooklyn College Too Much for Lady Bears

FLUSHING, NY – St. Joseph's women's tennis played host for the first time in 2011 as cross-borough rival Brooklyn College paid a visit to the National Tennis Center. The Bulldogs found the Flushing confines friendly, sweeping the Lady Bears, 9-0. The loss puts St. Joseph's at 0-2 for the season while Brooklyn College improves to 2-0.

Junior Patricia Nealon (Maspeth, NY/St. Francis Prep) turned in the grittiest performance for the Lady Bears, falling at 4th singles, 6-3, 6-4. Sophomore Kelly McNamee (Glendale, NY/Mary Louis) also turned in a strong effort at 3rd singles before dropping the match 6-1, 6-4.

St. Joseph's is back on the court on Friday, October 7th in their first conference match of the season. The Lady Bears hit the road to take on Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference foe, New Rochelle. The matinee is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
