Women's Tennis Tames Cougars

BROOKLYN, NY – The St. Joseph's College women's tennis team used strong singles play to bypass Medgar Evers College, 6-3, on Tuesday night to move one game under .500 on the season.

Senior Darcy Crimi (Glendale, NY/Christ the King), sophomore Patricia Nealon (Maspeth, NY/St. Francis Prep) and junior Danielle Marino (Maspeth, NY/Mary Louis) each secured love victories, 10-0, at #3, #4 and #5 singles, respectively. Marino's win is her second career win and she is currently on a two match win streak.

Sophomore Kelly McNamee (Glendale, NY/Mary Louis) was victorious at #2 singles, 10-3. McNamee is currently 3-2 on the season at #2 singles.

Junior Kristin Bauman suffered the lone singles loss, falling 10-4 at #1 singles to Roneke Browne.

St. Joseph's returns to action concluding Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference play against Vaughn at the USTA National Tennis Center starting at 5 p.m.
