McNamee Tabbed HVWAC Tennis Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Recognizing her outstanding performance on the tennis court and helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team to a 9-0 victory over Vaughn College in the Lady Bears season opener, Kelly McNamee (Glendale, NY/Mary Louis) has been named Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The junior produced a pair of victories at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. An all-conference selection last season, McNamee assumed the number one spot and was victorious with a 10-2 singles victory over fellow all-conference honoree Estefania Collazos before winning 8-6 in doubles.

McNamee receives the honor for the first time in her career and is the first received by a Lady Bear this season.

St. Joseph's (1-1) returns to action on Wednesday, October 3rd facing Cooper Union for a non-conference match at the US National Tennis Center starting at 7 p.m.
