Lady Bears Tennis Swept By Lehman

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 non-conference setback to Lehman College on Monday night at the US National Tennis Center. 

St. Joseph's (1-1) was led by Victoria LaBosco (Glendale, NY/Archbishop Molloy) who put up the best fight losing 10-4 at second singles.  The Lady Bears competed hard but were overwhelmed by Lehman as they dominated the singles matches winning three matches without allowing a game. Junior Nicole Farinella (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport HS) secured the other lone game victory for St. Joseph's at No. 6 singles.

The doubles team of LaBosco and senior Danielle Marino (Maspeth, NY/Mary Louis) fought hard at No. 2 doubles match before succumbing 8-4.

St. Joseph's will look to rebound on Wednesday, October 3rd for a non-conference matchup against Cooper Union at the US National Tennis Center with first serve slated for 7 p.m.
