Lady Bears Tennis Falls to Albertus Magnus

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Despite singles victories from Victoria LaBosco (Glendale, NY/Archbishop Molloy) and Kelly McNamee (Glendale, NY/Mary Louis), the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 non-conference decision to Albertus Magnus College on Sunday evening at the US National Tennis Center.

The Lady Bears (1-4) dropped their fourth straight match while Albertus Magnus improved to 3-8, winners of two of their last three.

Sophomore LaBosco defeated her opponent at No. 1 singles by a break, 10-8, for her first win at the top flight. Junior McNamee was victorious at No. 2 singles, 10-4, notching her second win of the season.  LaBosco and McNamee paired up at No. 1 doubles, but dropped an 8-5 decision.

Senior Patricia Nealon (Maspeth, NY/St. Francis Prep) played a hard-fought match at No. 3 singles but fell by a break, 10-8.

St. Joseph's resumes Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference play hosting Sarah Lawrence College on Tuesday, October 16th at the US National Tennis Center.
