Lady Bears Tennis Blanked by Sarah Lawrence

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to second place Sarah Lawrence College in Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference action on Tuesday evening at the US National Tennis Center.

The Lady Bears (1-5, 1-1 HVWAC) managed to win 11 games in singles play with junior Kelly McNamee (Glendale, NY/Mary Louis) losing her No. 2 singles match to HVWAC Player of the Week Maddy Dessanti and senior Patricia Nealon (Maspeth, NY/St. Francis Prep) dropping her No. 4 match both by 10-4 margins.

The visiting Gryphons (5-4, 3-1 HVWAC) continued to dominate the doubles competition, surrendering just one game at No. 2 doubles to the duo of junior Krysta Verdone (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) and senior Danielle Marino (Maspeth, NY/Mary Louis).

St. Joseph's looks to get return to the win column when they take on Cooper Union on Thursday, October 18th at 7:00 pm at the US National Tennis Center.
