Lady Bears Tennis Shutout by Pratt

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to first place and defending champion Pratt Institute in Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference action on Monday evening at The ARC in Brooklyn.

The Lady Bears (2-6, 1-2 HVWAC) managed to win five games in the singles play with sophomore Victoria LoBosco (Glendale, NY/Archbishop Molloy) losing her No. 1 match and senior Shamika Thomas (Brooklyn, NY/St. Joseph's) dropping her No. 6 match both by 10-2 margins.

The host Cannoneers (5-1, 4-0 HVWAC), who clinched the regular season championship with the victory, continued to dominate the doubles competition surrendering one game each to the duo of junior Kelly McNamee (Glendale, NY/Mary Louis) and LoBosco at No. 1 doubles and the pair of senior Teresa Mangan (Cleveland, OH/St. Joseph's) and Thomas at No. 3 doubles.

St. Joseph's looks to get back in the win column when they take on the College of New Rochelle on Tuesday, October 23rd in their HVWAC regular season finale. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the U.S. National Tennis Center.
