McNamee Named to Inaugural AD3I All-Independent Women's Tennis Team

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Senior Kelly McNamee (Glendale, N.Y./Mary Louis) was named to the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) inaugural All-Independent Women's Tennis Team after helping lead St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) to a third place finish in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships (HVIAC), their highest finish since 2009.

McNamee helped the Lady Bears conclude their 2013 campaign with a 2-8 record, winning two of their last three matches. The senior concluded her career winning at No. 3 singles in the HVIAC quarterfinals before falling in the semifinals. McNamee teamed up with freshman Samantha Rossi to earn a victory in the No. 2 doubles tournament.

The senior spent the season splitting time between the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions. She picked up her first singles win of the year at Lehman College earning the Lady Bears lone win of the match at No. 2 singles.

The HVIAC All-Conference honoree notched a doubles win against Sarah Lawrence teaming up with Rossi to take an 8-5 decision netting St. Joseph's lone point of the match.

McNamee was also an AD3I All-Independent and HVIAC All-Conference selection in cross country and has been a threat on the hardwood this season as well leading the St. Joseph's women's basketball team with 13.7 points per game. The senior took home AD3I women's basketball Player of the Week honors on November 26th and is currently ranked No. 17 in Division III shooting 92 percent from the charity stripe.
