Trerotola/Pierre Victorious as Women's Tennis Falls at Sage

TROY, N.Y. — Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Savior) and Tathiana Pierre (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Ford) teamed up for a victory at No. 1 doubles to secure the lone point for the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's team in a 7-1 loss to The Sage Colleges in a Skyline Conference matchup at Prospect Park.

The Sage Colleges (1-7, 1-2 Skyline) earn their first win of the season, while the Lady Bears fall to (1-2, 0-2 Skyline).

How it Happened

  • Trerotola and Pierre were victorious for their second straight match at No. 1 doubles securing an 8-2 win over Emily Schultz and Katie Schultz and the Lady Bears trailed 2-1 after the opening doubles matches.
  • With the overall match already decided after Sage took five of the six singles matches, Pierre rallied in her match at No. 2 singles after dropping the opening set, 6-3, to take set two in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5), before the match ended unfinished due to darkness.

Next up for the Lady Bears

St. Joseph's will look to rebound quickly facing Mount Saint Mary College in a Skyline Conference match tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Newburgh, N.Y.
