HARRISON, N.Y.— Facing a 4-0 deficit at the start of singles play, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team rallied to win four singles matches, but couldn't complete the comeback falling 5-4 to Lehman College in their 2015 season finale on Sunday afternoon.

  • Records: Lehman (3-9), St. Joseph's (2-10)

How It Happened

  • The Lady Bears were held to just two games won in doubles play as Tathiana Pierre and Denise Trerotola fell 8-2 at the top doubles flight.
  • Playing with only five women, St. Joseph's defaulted a doubles and singles match and faced a 4-0 deficit at the start of singles play.
  • Katie Wenzer cruised in her No. 5 singles match, the only Lady Bear to win in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
  • Lehman grabbed the opening set in four of the five singles matches, but St. Joseph's rallied in three of the matches to force a super-tiebreaker, but Kanto Rasedoara defeated Princess Baptiste at No. 3 singles to clinch the match for the Lightning.
  • Trerotola gutted out a 12-10 victory over Lynessa George in the super-tiebreaker at No. 1 singles to win 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (12-10). Her team-leading six singles victories this season ranks tied for third.
  • Pierre closed out her SJC career with a victory, winning 10-8 in her super-tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-8). The senior finishes with 11 career singles victories, tied for third all-time in SJC history.
  • Mary Edward wrapped up her 2015 campaign on a two-match winning streak, dominating in her super-tiebreaker, 10-2, to win 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-2).
