Trerotola Ties Season Singles Wins Record as Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Season at Hunter
FLUSHING, N.Y. — Collecting wins at singles and doubles, junior Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) added to her career singles wins record but the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team ended their 2017 season with a 2-9 record falling to Hunter College, 6-3, at the USTA National Tennis Center on Wednesday evening..

- Denise Trerotola and Valentina Velez Valencia both went undefeated on the evening to account for all three points for the Bears. The duo teamed up to win by a break, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles.
- Trerotola cruised at No. 1 singles winning 10-1 to finish her junior campaign with a 7-4 singles mark. The seven wins matches a single-season high set twice previously by Jessica Lintner in 2009 and Tatiana Pierre in 2014.
- In the final match of the day, Velez Valencia gutted out a 10-9 win at No. 3 singles.
- Daniella Alva and Vanessa Munoz both took four games off their opponents in a losing effort at No. 2 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
