Trerotola Repeats as Skyline All-Conference First-Team Selection

Trerotola Repeats as Skyline All-Conference First-Team Selection

NEW YORK — Setting the program career singles wins record and matching the season singles wins record, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) junior Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Savior) was named to the Skyline Conference Women's Tennis All-Conference Team in an announcement made by the conference office earlier today.

"Denise is a great role model for everyone on the team both on and off the court," commented first-year head coach Eduardo Gil. "She's an outstanding leader and team captain, and this honor is well deserved for the work she put in this season."

Trerotola lands on the first team for the second straight season and is the only Bear to ever receive All-Skyline tennis honors to date. She posted a 7-4 mark overall and a 4-2 record in league play in the top singles position. All of her singles victories came in straight sets, three of which she surrendered only one game.

During the Bears' 7-2 win over York where she triumphed 6-0, 6-0, Trerotola became the program's all-time singles victories leader, surpassing a mark that has stood for eight years. She'll enter her senior season with an 18-17 career singles record and with 28 combined victories, she needs just four more wins to become the winningest women's tennis player in Bears history.

Yeshiva University's Shani Hava was named Player of the Year leading 13 student-athletes named to the All-Conference Team, which is selected by the league's seven head coaches.
