Trerotola Garners Skyline Player of the Week Honors

NEW YORK — Winning at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team's defeat of defending Skyline champion Yeshiva (Sep. 7), senior Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week announced by the league office earlier today.

Last Friday's match against Yeshiva was the Bears' season opener in which Trerotola downed Bailey Frohlich (6-3, 6-0) at the first flight in singles. Then, alongside Valentina Velez Valencia (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney), Trerotola won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles helping SJC to their first 1-0 start to a season since 2012.

Up next for Trerotola and the Bears is a road match at the College of Staten Island on Saturday (Sep. 15) with the first serve set for 3 p.m.
