Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Skyline Slate at Mount Saint Mary

NEWBURGH, N.Y. — With a Skyline Conference playoff berth on the line, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 road loss to Mount Saint Mary College on Sunday afternoon.

Ashleigh Hartwig (Santee, Calif./West Hills) collected the lone point for the Bears in a straight-set win at No. 3 singles, 6-3-, 6-2. The freshman paired up with senior Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) for an 8-5 loss at No. 1 doubles in the closest match of the pairs session.

Next Up for the Bears

Finishing in fifth place—their highest finish since joining the Skyline Conference in 2015—the Bears (2-8, 2-4 Skyline) will celebrate Senior Night for Denise Trerotola with a non-conference road match in their season finale on Tuesday, October 16 against John Jay College at the USTA National Tennis Center starting at 4 p.m.
