Lehman Hands Lady Bears Fourth Straight Loss
BRONX, NY – Fielding a team with only three opening day starters and plagued by injuries, the St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team lost their fourth straight match, a 3-0 (25-8, 25-10, 25-19) loss to Lehman College at the APEX Center in the Bronx, NY on Thursday night.
In a match where the Lady Bears held a lead, Lehman dominated the attack recording 38 kills versus the Lady Bears 11. Kathleen McCarthy led the Lady Bears for the second straight game with seven kills and tied for a team-high 11 digs. Victoria Curran (Queens, NY/Mary Louis) also had 11 digs. Yliane Ulloa (Queens, NY/Midwood) missed her second straight game with a lower leg injury.
The Lightning (5-5) were led by Jennifer Winkler with 12 kills and Lisa Jagdeo who had 25 assists.
St. Joseph's (3-6) has a day off before travelling to Wayne, NJ on Saturday for a non-conference matchup against William Paterson University (10-3). Game time is scheduled for noon.
