Matthews Named HVWAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week

NEW YORK, NY – Recognizing her strong play at the Kean University Tournament, junior outside hitter Kim Matthews (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney) was selected as the HVWAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week in an announcement released by the conference earlier today.

Matthews led the Lady Bears with 30 kills over the four matches for the tournament. During the Lady Bears' straight-set victory over Cooper Union, the junior transfer had 11 kills, six digs and three aces. For her efforts, Matthews was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Senior outside hitter Yliane Ulloa (Queens, NY/Midwood) has named to the conference honor roll, compiling a 24 dig, 19 kill week.
