Lady Bears Volleyball Takes Two at Canton Quad

CANTON, N.Y. - The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's volleyball team went 2-1 on Saturday in their first road action of the season at the SUNY Canton Quad match.  

The Lady Bears (4-1, 1-0 HVWAC) showed little effects of the long trip to Canton, which is located 30 minutes from the Canadian border in northern New York, easily bypassing Johnson State in straight sets, 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-5) and Paul Smith's College also in straight sets, 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-11).

Host Canton, who was ranked #3 in the latest United States Collegiate Athletic Association coaches' poll, was as good as advertised, handing the Lady Bears their first loss of the season in three sets (25-8, 25-10, 25-16).

St. Joseph's, who entered the latest coaches' poll at #19, will return home to host #14 King's College on Tuesday, September 25th in a USCAA matchup at Brooklyn Technical High School starting at 7:30 p.m.
