GaNun Awarded HVWAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Recognizing her strong play in leading the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's volleyball team to a 3-1 record last week, Lauren GaNun (Breezy Point, NY/Fontbonne Hall) has been selected as the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week.

The freshman middle hitter accumulated 24 kills, averaging 2.0 kills per set and hit an efficient .340 for the week. GaNun recorded a match-high 10 points in the Lady Bears conference win over Pratt, recording nine kills with a solo block.  She tied for the team lead in points in St. Joseph's matchup with Paul Smith's College putting away eight kills and one block assist.

It is the first time in GaNun's career to receive the honor and the first weekly accolade received by a LadY Bear this season.

GaNun and the Lady Bears (5-1) begin a five-match road stand returning to action on Thursday, September 27th for a non-conference match against CUNY foe College of Staten Island starting at 7 p.m.
