Three Harriers Post Personal Best Times at LIU Post Invitational
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Senior Rebeca Ramirez (Woodhaven, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) and sophomore Justin Russell (Saline, Mich./Saline) both set new personal bests as the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's and women's cross country teams competed at the LIU Post Cross Country Invitational on Saturday..
Women's Highlights
- Senior Rebeca Ramirez was the top finisher for the Bears for the second straight race, posting her first sub-24-minute time in the 5K, finishing in 23:31 in 17th overall.
- Junior Shannon Doherty (Brooklyn, N.Y./Churchill) followed in 19th place in 25:15.
Men's Highlights
- Sophomore Justin Russell smashed his previous 8K personal best by 5 ½ minutes crossing in 27:40 in 23rd place.
- Freshman Danny Zhang (Brooklyn, N.Y./Leon M. Goldstein) also took a large chunk off his previous best with his first sub-40-minute time of 39:15.
