De Leon Paces Men's Cross Country at NJIT Invite

NEWARK, N.J. —  Aaron De Leon was the top finisher for the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's cross country team at the NJIT Highlander Challenge on Saturday afternoon at Branch Brook Park.

De Leon shattered his 8K personal best by over six minutes clocking in at 35:10, good for a 170th place finish in an open field that featured over 30 teams from NCAA Division I, II, III and NJCAA. 

All four Bears posted season-best times in the meet.

Christopher Marina finished a minute behind De Leon in 36:13 in 177th place. Christopher Tracy followed in 36:50 in 183rd place. George Garyfallos rounded out the Bears squad posting a sub-40 minute time for the first time this season, crossing in 39:45.

The Bears are back on the course on Sunday, October 10 for the Golden Eagle Invitational at Bethpage State Park.
