Cross Country Secures Three Wins at Purchase Duals

PURCHASE, N.Y. —  Alexis Buchanan was the top overall finisher for the women and Christopher Marina was second overall for the men as the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) cross country challenged the College of Mount Saint Vincent and SUNY College at Old Westbury in a double dual meet at Purchase College on Thursday morning.

Buchanan's 4-kilometer time of 19 minutes flat for a three-second victory led the Bears to a pair of victories over Mount Saint Vincent, 21-24, and Old Westbury, 27-28. Grace Kennedy was the second for the Bears across the line in 6th overall in 21:24 with Raquel Ramirez and Lauren Van Der Kamp rounding out the top 10 with matching times of 24:53.

Marina clocked in at 16:21 to lead three Bears across the line in second through fourth place followed by Aaron De Leon and Christopher Tracy in 17:10 and 17:11, respectively. The trio led the male harriers to a 15-40 win over Old Westbury and were edged out by one point, 27-28, by Mount Saint Vincent.
