Cross Country Participates in the NJIT Highlander Challenge

 

NEWARK, N.J. — The St. Joseph's University, NY (Brooklyn) cross country team took part in the NJIT Highlander Challenge, hosted by the New Jersey Institute of Technology, on Saturday afternoon.

Raquel Ramirez was the first Bear to cross the finish of the 5k course with a time of 26:30, good for 114th place. Danielle Bourne (27:03), Grace Kennedy (27:26), and Kristen Donovan (27:44) all crossed the finish within the 27-minute threshold. Joell McKeon rounded out the women's side with a time of 28:01

In the men's 8k race, Evan Sirakis paced the Bears with a time of 34:51, good for 134th place. Aaron De Leon was not far behind Sirakis, finishing at 36:06 while Justin Jawad clocked in at 42:16.

The Bears' next scheduled meet takes place on Sunday, October 23 at the Skyline Conference Championship from the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, New York.
