Cross Country Participates at Mount Saint Mary Knight Invite

 

MILTON, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) cross-country teams previewed the Skyline Conference Championship course on Sunday morning, competing at the Mount Saint Mary Knight Invite at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome.

Back-to-back conference Rookie of the Week Jennifer Sarji (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall Academy) placed 48th; completing the women's 6k course in 35:22. Lauren Van Der Kamp (Sacramento, Calif./Rosemont) followed Sarji at 40:31 with Joell McKeon (Narrowsburg, N.Y./Sullivan West) pacing just behind at 40:44. Elizabeth Yu (Vista, Calif./Rancho Bueno Vista) and Shoshana Providence (Brooklyn, N.Y./Hillcrest) finished inside the top 100, resulting in a 12th-place team finish; out of 15 teams.

On the men's 8k course, Evan Sirakis (Hollis Hills, N.Y./St. John's Prep) improved on his finishing time from a weekend ago, crossing the finish in 70th place at 37:10. In his second meet, Tariq Belma (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) completed the race in 44:49.
