Since arriving on campus as a freshman in 2011, David Louison has made an immediate impact on the success of the Bears basketball team, showing a five-win improvement after his freshman campaign – which he claimed D3Hoops.com All-Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year honors – and then back-to-back winning seasons after five-straight sub-.500 seasons.

The forward reached the coveted 1,000-point scoring milestone as a junior in just 71 games and enters his senior season poised to be the first Bear to ever reach the 1,000-rebound mark, needing just 123 rebounds.  Over his first three seasons, Louison has averaged a double-double with 14.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per game and will start his senior season ranked second in NCAA Division III among active players and third across all three divisions in career doubles with 40.

Already the Bears all-time rebounding leader (877) and blocks leader (96), Louison needs just 267 points to become the fifth Bear to join the 1,500-point scoring club.

The two-time United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) First Team All-American helped lead the Bears to their first USCAA National Championships berth in six years in 2013 and the three-time All-Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Team honoree helped the Bears capture their third league championship in 2014 earning Tournament MVP honors after averaging 20.5 points and 15.0 rebounds over the tournament.

Louison lifted his scoring average this season to a career-best 18.3 points per game and was named the Association of Division III Independents Co-Player of the Year – sharing the honor with a fellow teammate, Michael Megafu – and earned his third straight AD3I First Team All-Independent selection.

A criminal justice major boasting nearly a perfect GPA and a two-time USCAA National All-Academic Team member, Louison has worked in the U.S. Attorney's Office as a student clerk since June 2012 gaining valuable exposure and experience working on high profile cases such as the U.S. vs. Bank of America Corporation. Upon his graduation from SJC next spring, Louison plans to attend law school and continue to pursue a career as a lawyer.

Mr. Louison lives in Brooklyn, New York with his parents, Madeline and Neville, and has two older brothers Andy, 28, and Jeremy, 24, and a younger sister Sarah, 19.
