Lauren GaNun cemented her place in SJC Brooklyn women's volleyball history after an outstanding senior campaign that saw her collect All-Skyline Conference first-team honors and being named the Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The 6-foot-2 senior was a presence at middle hitter, ranked second in the league in kills (4.14) and points per set (4.75) and fourth in the league in blocks per set (0.62). GaNun pounded double-digit kills in 18 of 22 matches and crossed the 20-kill mark four times this season, highlighted by a 27-kill, 12-dig double-double in a five-set conference match against Maritime. The Breezy Point, N.Y. native hit .400-or-better in five matches, assembling a .262 hitting percentage, fourth-best in the league.

Over her first three seasons, GaNun collected United States Collegiate Athletic Association Second-Team All-American honors, three All-Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selections and three Association of Division III Independents All-Independent Team honors.

One of only two Lady Bears all-time to put away 1,000 kills over her career, GaNun etched her name across the SJC record book finishing as the all-time leader in attack attempts (3147) and block assists (65); and ranked second in kills (1156), kills per set (3.88), solo blocks (105), total blocks (170), points (1373.5) and points per set (4.6). She also holds several SJC single-match records in kills (40), attack attempts (99) and blocks (8).

In addition to her accomplishments on the court, GaNun carried one of the highest grade point averages on the team for the fall and landed on the dean's list three semesters over her SJC career. The psychology major has plans to attend grad school and pursue a career in school psychology.
