Forty-Two Bears Feature on Winter/Spring 2023 Skyline Academic Honor Roll
NEW YORK — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) department of athletics saw a total of 42 student-athletes represented on the Winter/Spring 2022-23 Skyline Conference Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Friday afternoon.
"Scholastic achievement is a cornerstone of the Skyline Conference, and the educational experience and academic success of our student-athletes is a priority to the Skyline membership" said newly-appointed league commissioner Melissa Reilly. She added "I applaud each of the student-athletes and our schools for their commitment and continued success. Our student-athletes are shining examples of the DIII philosophy."
The Skyline saw 759 student-athletes represented on the Academic Honor Roll across its 12 core institutions and three men's volleyball associate members for the winter and spring teams from the 2022-23 academic year.
The Bears baseball and softball programs each produced 13 honorees. Among the 42 recipients, 25 individuals were repeat winners, and six student-athletes – Emma Kiley from women's basketball, Maeve McKeon and Nicole Trani from softball, and Lucas Collet, Louis Lombardi, and Matt McHugh from baseball – earned the distinction in all of their athletic seasons and will graduate with this recognition. Additionally, 12 postseason honorees, including all five All-Sportsmanship recipients, were named to the Academic Honor Roll.
