St. Joseph's holds a 10-5 advantage overall against the Lady Bulldogs, but they look to avenge a doubleheader sweep from their last meeting on May 4th, 2013.

Last Time Out:  The Lady Bears used an offense that recorded 26 hits and plated 16 runs along with strong pitching performances by junior Jackie Perillo (Howard Beach, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) and freshman Jamilynn McGowan (Staten Island, N.Y./Michael J. Petrides) to sweep Lehman College, defeating the Lightning in the opener, 9-4, before taking the nightcap 7-3 last Sunday.

St. Joseph's is seeking their sixth straight Hudson Valley Invitational title as they have dominated the conference opposition under the tutelage of Carbone, winning every league game since 2008.

One-time HVIAC Player of the Week Cassandra Molinari is hitting a team-high .484 (15-for-31) with six runs batted in. The catcher/second baseman has also been efficient defensively from behind the plate, throwing out five runners attempting to steal. Also adding a threat to the St. Joseph's lineup is one-time HVIAC Rookie of the Week Kristin Ferrigno, who tops the Lady Bears with 10 RBI as well as a .367 batting average.

In the circle, freshman Jamilynn McGowan has stood out notching two wins (two complete games over four starts) so far for the Lady Bears. She is coming off an outing that saw her go 7 2/3 innings allowing only one earned run on seven hits in a win over Lehman.

Last Time Out: The Lady Bulldogs split a doubleheader with Brooklyn College last time out, defeating them 6-5, then dropping the second game 7-6 April 5th.

Briarcliffe, who made a run in the USCAA Softball National Championship last season, is led offensively from Ashley Gesmondi who leads the team with a .463 batting average (19-for-41) and also seven stolen bases. Emily Mazzaro has a team-high 16 RBI, while Lyndsay Coppola also has hit well, hitting .410 with four home runs and 13 RBI. 

Tina Marie Callahan is the leader of the Lady Bulldogs in the circle with three wins, including a 1.68 earned run average and 15 strikeouts.
