Ashley McQuillan Named to AD3I First Team All-Independent

KANSAS CITY, MO – Adding to her growing list of accolades, sophomore guard Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) was named to the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Women's Basketball All-Independent First Team in an announcement released by the Association earlier this week.

UNIONTOWN, PA – After trailing for nearly 36 minutes, #8 UC-Clermont gained the lead with less than a minute left and held off #9 St. Joseph's for a 49-45 victory to advance in the 2010 USCAA National Tournament. Freshman guard Teresa Mangan (Cleveland, OH/St. Joseph's) paced the Lady Bears with 12 points.

UNIONTOWN, PA – The USCAA announced the members of the 2009-10 All-American and All-Academic Teams on Tuesday night at the USCAA National Championship banquet at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) and Justin Gist (Newsome, FL/Newsome) were given Honorable Mention All-American and Tara Gleason (Woodside, NY/Stella Maris) was named to the All-Academic Team.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – With 0:33 left and St. Joseph’s trailing by one, Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) hit two free throws to put the Lady Bears up for good leading St. Joseph’s to a 56-53 victory over #2 Albany Pharmacy in the 2010 HVWAC Championship game on Sunday night. McQuillan finished with 20 points and was named Tournament MVP.

NEW YORK, NY – In announcements released earlier this week by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC), sophomore Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) received Player of the Week honors from both associations, while freshman Janine Doran (South Ozone Park, NY/Archbishop Molloy) received Rookie of the Week honors from the HVWAC for games ending February 14, 2010.
