The Bear Facts
- After picking up their first win of the season defeating sibling rivals SJC Long Island, the Lady Bears look to snap a two-game skid against long-time rivals Yeshiva, whom the Lady Bears have lost to only once in 29 previous meetings.
- In yesterday's game at Hunter, the Lady Bears cut a nine-point deficit to one early in the 4th but were undone by a 15-3 Hawk run that set them behind double-digits and unable to close the gap.
- Sophomore Destiny Marino enters ranked third in the Skyline in scoring with 17.8 points per game and comes off a career-high 32 points in yesterday's non-conference tilt at Hunter. She also pulled down 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.
- Freshman Victoria Porcasi ranks second on the team in scoring with 12.1 ppg (9th in Skyline) and shoots 85.7% from the FT line (3rd in Skyline).
- Senior Erica Eddy continues a career-best pace with 11.5 points per game and is shooting a team-best 90% (18-20) from the charity stripe.
Porcasi Claims Skyline Rookie of the Week Honors
- Victoria Porcasi averaged 15.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists over a three-game week and earns Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in her career. The freshman guard tallied a team-high-tying 21 points leading the Lady Bears past sibling rivals St. Joseph's (Long Island) and followed it up with 18 points and seven boards at home vs. Farmingdale.
- Sophomore Destiny Marino was named to the Skyline Honor Roll for the second time this season.
Live by the "3", Die by the "3"
- The Lady Bears drain a Skyline-best 6.9 trifectas a game, placing them at No. 3 in the nation. They also rank No. 2 in Division III in three-pointers attempted.
The Mac Attack
- The Maccabees enter tonight's game seeking their first win of the season. Long-time HVIAC rivals, Yeshiva and SJC meet for the first time in Skyline Conference play. The teams meet for the 30th time tonight.
- Yeshiva dropped a 68-43 Skyline decision to first place Sage College on Saturday.
- Senior Julia Owen, an All-HVIAC honoree last season, leads the Macs with 10-.9 points per game and 11 made three-pointers.
- Michal Alge ranks second in scoring with 9.0 points and grabbing a team-best 10.5 rebounds. The sophomore forward recorded her third double-double of the season on Saturday with 15 pts and 10 reb.
