Hartwig and Mikos Named Athletes of the Year at Annual Awards Banquet
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Seniors Ashleigh Hartwig (softball) and Chris Mikos (men's basketball) were named the 2021-22 Athletes of the Year as the Department of Athletics celebrated their annual Athletic Awards Banquet in person for the first time in three years last Friday.
Hartwig collected her third Skyline Softball Player of the Year honor earlier this week, the first student-athlete to win the league's top honor multiple times. Mikos produced the highest scoring average in the Bears Skyline era averaging 21.8 points a night en route to becoming the first All-Skyline men's basketball selection since the 2015-16 season.
Breaking the women's basketball scoring and rebounding records and becoming the first Bear student-athlete to be named All-Skyline four times, senior Kelly O'Donnell received the Career Achievement Award.
Seniors Jessica Mecham (softball, cross country) and Eric Torres (soccer) were named the Scholar-Athletes of the Year.
