66 Student-Athletes Comprise 2022 Bears Scholar-Athlete Team

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) athletic department is pleased to announce the members of the sixth-annual Bears Scholar-Athlete Team. This year's honorees maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or above during the spring or fall semester of the 2022 calendar year.

"Our student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom and we are proud of their efforts," stated Director of Athletics and Recreation Margaret Alaimo, adding "balancing academic, athletic, and community responsibilities are challenging and they continue to successfully juggle it all. We applaud them for their focus and commitment to their education."

The 66-member Scholar-Athlete Team was unveiled at halftime of men's basketball's game against Yeshiva on Tuesday night.

15 student-athletes held 4.0 GPA's in either fall or spring semesters with three Bears – Maeve McKeon (softball), Jessica Mecham (softball, cross country), Sabrina Amadio (women's soccer) – maintaining their perfect GPA's throughout the year.

Additionally, Skyline Conference Players of the Year Ashleigh Hartwig (softball, spring 2022) and Victor Naci (men's soccer, fall 2022) were named the Conference's Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their respective sports.
